: Music of Tchaikovsky's Russia
The last of a series of 13 programmes which has included many of Tchaikovsky's songs, piano and chamber works, as well as music by other leading composers in the Russia he knew. This week ELAINE PAD-MORE introduces music of Tchaikovsky's last years:String sextet: Souveniir de Florence, Op 70; Six Songs, Op 73; and a movement from the Quartet in A minor, Op 35, by Arensky, written in memory of Tchaikovsky.
