An immense step forward towards understanding William Blake 's intentions and achievements has been made possible by the publication of the poet Kathleen Raines two-volume study, Blake and Tradition, embodying her contributions to the A. W. Mellon series of lectures in the Fine Arts - and of the Selected Writings of Thomas Taylor the Platonist which she has edited with George Mills Harper.
