The third in a series of four chamber plays, written by Strindbern for his Intimate Theatre in 1907, chosen to illustrate Marianne Hel wew's study broadcast in June. After the fire which has destroyed his parental home, a traveller returns to the place of his birth to I nd that the ideals of his youth have been illusions based on falsehoods A gallery of characters from his childhood turn up to show their true natures, just as the fire has uncovered the horrible reality of life behind the gutted facade. ' And so, out into the world again, Wanderer! '
