A Final Talk : ' The Great Exhibition '
RHODA POWER
This afternoon Rhoda Power is to tell you about the first of the great international exhibitions, held in Hyde
Park, London, by the Society of Arts, under the presidency of the Prince Consort, in 1851. All nations were invited to compete ; a building was erected covering 20 acres and was used afterwards for the present Crystal
Palace.
With this talk Rhoda Power completes a two-year British History course. In the first year she covered the ground from 55 B.C. to 1603 ; in the second year from 1603 to 1850.
Next term she is to begin another course from 55 B.C. to the end ot the Middle Ages.
