Things are looking pretty bad for David Owen. After a tour of inspection at Exton Tinplate, Mr. Welch-Smith has expressed dissatisfaction with David's work and has asked him to resign. David has reported Welch-Smith's dishonest practices to the Council and when he tells Bob and Bill Elliot they realise that this will have repercussions on Sidepark. Dr. and Mrs. Dale went down to Suffolk after a call from the local police; the mystery of the cottage ' 'ghost' has been cleared up, but Dr. Dale still has to face the bill for repairs.
