Phil Owen is back at home after a few days in hospital and has suffered nothing worse than a broken arm. The police, however, are looking for the man who frightened him and they think it may be Theodore Pusey , one of the ' misfits ' from the Vicarage. The man has recently disappeared, and the Vicar and Dr. Dale are both perturbed because of his unstable character.
