Roddy Mackenzie saw a girl at the Hospital dance and felt strongly drawn to her. but too shy to make an approach. To his surprise, an approach was made by her. Joe Higgins persuaded Bob and Pat to try their luck on the Pools and they have won £50 each. Chris has come successfully through his operation and Jenny has met Roddy's dream girl, who is a nurse on Chris's ward. Mrs. Dale has helped Dr. Dale and Roddy with a poor but proud old lady.
The new signature tune for 'The Dales' is by Ron Grainer, who wrote the 'Comedy Playhouse' and 'Maigret' themes for BBC-tv
