Serge Krish, who formed his Septet in 1928, will always be remembered for founding the New Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, composed of eighty instrumentalists who had fallen on hard times. Their Sunday afternoon concerts were a great success at the People's Palace until it was taken over for war purposes. They are now being continued at the Central Hall, Westminster.
