Though he started life as a serious musician, Arthur Young has now become one of the leading figures in the world of jazz and swing. His compositions include a tone poem, which was performed by Ambrose at the Royal Opera House. Covent Garden. He and his Swingtette are broadcasting in the College of Swing Knowledge tomorrow night.
Young is one of the leading exponents of the novachord, an instrument of the electric-organ class, which, however, has a diversity of range and .effects all its own.
