Julian Clary hosts the awards ceremony that recognises the talents of the people working behind the scenes in television and films. Recorded yesterday at the Hilton Hotel in London's Park Lane, the occasion features guest presenters including
Charles Dance, Julia Sawalha, Robin Day, Nigel Hawthorne, Linda Robson and Pauline Quirke, and includes clips from the year's top films and programmes. Fresh from its success at the Oscars, The English Patient is nominated in seven of the eight film categories, while Ballykissangel, French and Saunders, Our Friends in the North, and Hillsborough are among the nominations in the television categories.
