Jools Holland introduces this live studio concert by one of the most successful British bands of the nineties. The Beautiful South performs typically melodic, bittersweet songs, including You Keep It All In and One Last Love Song, as well as the more recent hits Rotterdam, Blackbird on the Wire and Blue Is the Colour.
Their guests include vocalist James Dean Bradfield, from the Manic Street Preachers, folk and country singer/songwriter Iris DeMent and soul legend Sam Moore, of Sam and Dave fame. Plus the London Community Gospel Choir and a brass sextet from the Black Dyke Mills Band.
