Big Trouble In Little Schools
The number of children - as young as six - being expelled from primary schools for unmanageable or even violent behaviour has risen threefold since 1990-91. Disruptive children intimidate theirteachers and damage the education of theirclassmates. But the cost to society of expellingthese children, and the risk of theirfalling into delinquency and crime, may be even higherthanthatofkeepingthemin school. Mike Embley reports.
