Two years ago, 47 people died and 79 were injured when a British Midland passenger jet crashed into the Ml embankment at Kegworth in Leicestershire. The tragedy inspired the first detailed investigation into the injuries sustained by survivors of an air crash. The 18-month study discovered how the injury toll could have been greatly reduced.
