Scene 1: Innocence and Panic Johan and Marianne are being interviewed for a women's magazine as a shining example of the ideal married couple. Together for ten years, they both have successful careers and live a pleasant, comfortable life with their two young daughters. But at a dinner party they give for their friends Peter and Katarina, a frightening quarrel breaks out between the two guests. Soon afterwards, the first ominous cracks begin to appear in the facade of Johan and Marianne's apparently perfect marriage.
