In whole fields of medicine technical progress in treatment and biological research are advancing together.

In an operation the exposed conscious human brain can be stimulated to evoke from particular small regions memories and past sensations. This programme shows how the work of a distinguished neurological surgeon, Dr. Wilder Penfield, is contributing to our knowledge of the way the brain functions.
