On your marks for almost six hours of sporting entertainment. ranging from the majestic to the utterly mad. The 28th running of this world famous road race starts at 9.00 for the women's event, 9.25 for the wheelchair races and 9.45 for the men's and mass events.
While the "fun runners" give this marathon its unique character, some leading distance runners will also be taking part. Kenyan Martin Lei returns to defend the title he won last year but must face the likes of world champion Luke Kibet , Olympic champion
Stefano Baldini and half marathon world record holder
Sammy Wanjiru. The women's race will feature three of the first four home last year, including the experienced Ethiopian Gete
Wami. Britain's David Weir and Shelly Woods will be hoping to retain their titles in the wheelchair race. And keep an eye open for famous faces such as Adrian Chiles , Christine Bleakley , Ben Fogle ,
