: The British Academy Film Awards

Live from London's Leicester Square Odeon, the prestigious ceremony celebrating the best in British and international film-making over the past year, hosted once again by Stephen Fry.
Among the films likely to make an impact tonight are Martin Scorsese's The Aviator with 14 nominations, Finding Neverland with 12, and Vera Drake with 11, including one for the film's British director Mike Leigh. Other home-grown hopefuls include Kate Winslet and Imelda Staunton, who between them received three nominations in the Actress in a Leading Role category. A host of famous faces, including Juliette Lewis, Cate Blanchett, Pierce Brosnan and Sienna Miller will be presenting the awards. Special presentations include the Academy Fellowship and the Michael Balcon Award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, and there's the all-important Film of the Year category, as voted for by the public.
