The 139th University Boat Race for the Beefeater Gin Trophy.
This year's race from Putney to Mortlake on the Thames in London sees Oxford, winners of 16 of the last 17 races, looking to underline their recent superiority over Cambridge.
Another Oxford victory would bring them level with Cambridge in the overall series with 69 wins apiece (there was a dead-heat in 1877). Oxford have won the last six races and this year include Olympic coxless pairs gold medallist
Matthew Pinsent in their crew.
However, Cambridge, looking for their first victory since
1986, have potentially their best line-up for some years.
The race starts at 3.15pm, with the important toss for the Middlesex or Surrey station taking place at 2. 10pm. At
1.10pm, former Oxford coach
Dan Topolski investigates their current invincibility.
