Sir Christopher Collett steps into the shoes of Dick Whittington , as he makes his first public appearance since he became the 661st Lord Mayor of London.
Eighteen marching bands, military detachments from all three services, a civic parade and over 70 fun floats form a procession threading its way among the thousands of people lining the streets. BBCtv's outside broadcast cameras are at Mansion House, where the new Lord Mayor reviews the show; Cheapside, along the route; and at St Paul 's Cathedral.
