: Adventure - Ring of Fire

The last in a seven-part serier about a journey of adventure with the Brothers Blair among the volcanic islands and coral reefs of the vast Indonesian archipelago. Dream Wanderers of Borneo Lome and Lawrence Blair , two young Englishmen, journey 800 miles into the unmapped heart of Borneo - in search of a lost tribe of Punan Dyaks. On foot and in flimsy dugout canoes, they struggle through rapids, torrential downpours and quagmires. They are plagued by swarming bees, biting insects and blood-sucking leeches; then, when their food runs out, they are forced to survive on gibbon meat - blow-darted by their Dyak guides. At last they find the elusive 'dream-wandering' Punans, the free-moving guardians of the inner forest. The brothers are ritually tattooed with the symbol of Aping, the Punan 'Tree of All Life', and the shaman shows them in a dream how the tree unites all tribes of creatures and all races of men. The last in the series
Hot Property
The property boom has brought with it a brand new crime - mortgage fraud. It involves estate agents, valuers and solicitors as well as ordinary purchasers, and it's happening both because mortgages are so easily available and because the bodies set up to monitor house sales seem unable to cope with the frantic buying market.
Robin Denselow reports from London and Birmingham, where house prices have risen by 50 per cent this year, and where building societies and financial institutions are buying up strings of estate agents. Will the arrival of the powerful new player clean up the property market or just bring new problems?

About this project

This site contains the BBC listings information which the BBC printed in Radio Times between 1923 and 2009. You can search the site for BBC programmes, people, dates and Radio Times editions.

We hope it helps you find information about that long forgotten BBC programme, research a particular person or browse your own involvement with the BBC.

Through the listings, you will also be able to use the Genome search function to find thousands of radio and TV programmes that are already available to view or listen to on the BBC website.

There are more than 5 million programme listings in Genome. This is a historical record of the planned output and the BBC services of any given time. It should be viewed in this context and with the understanding that it reflects the attitudes and standards of its time - not those of today.

Welcome to BBC Genome

Genome is a digitised version of the Radio Times from 1923 to 2009 and is made available for internal research purposes only. You will need to obtain the relevant third party permissions for any use, including use in programmes, online etc.

This internal version of Genome, which includes all the magazine covers, images and articles as well as the programme listings from the Radio Times, is different to the version of BBC Genome that is available externally/to the public. It is only available inside the BBC network.

Your use of this version of Genome is covered by the BBC Acceptable Use of Information Systems Policy and these terms.
