Jumping Course, Hickstead featuring the 1975 British Jumping Derby for the w.d. & H.O. Wills Gold Trophy (Holder Harvey Smith : Salvador). This classic equestrian competition, first staged in 1961, has become recognised as the Blue Riband of world jumping. In the 15 years since its inception, only 11 magnificent horses have jumped clear rounds, two of them achieving this feat last year when Salvador (HARVEY SMITH ) and Buttevant Boy (GRAHAM FLETCHER ) were involved in one of the Derby's very rare jumps-off against the clock.
