Gillian Taylforth and Adam Woodyatt join Stacey Dooley to talk all things Kathy and Ian.

Walford legends Gillian Taylforth and Adam Woodyatt join Stacey Dooley to talk all things Kathy and Ian Beale, reliving classic scenes and revealing juicy behind-the-scenes gossip.

Stacey Dooley chats to some of Walford’s biggest stars, reliving their most memorable moments, sharing juicy behind-the-scenes gossip and revealing some of the soap’s best-kept secrets.

Gillian Taylforth and Adam Woodyatt, who play mother and son Kathy and Ian Beale, call each other ‘Mum’ and ‘Son’ off-screen. They tell all about their unique working relationship and 35-year friendship, and why it wasn’t unusual for Adam to turn up at Gillian’s house for food at 2am.

As they take a trip down memory lane, they each reveal their own stories behind Ian and Kathy’s biggest scenes – from Gillian’s nerves whilst filming Kathy’s shock return from the dead to the real reason Adam had to wear a hat throughout Ian’s homeless storyline.

Adam tells the story of their very first meeting during rehearsals in 1984, Gillian reveals who Kathy’s favourite son is, and the duo relive a classic Doof-Doof moment from the show’s early days. The pair also look to the future and tease what’s in store for Ian and Kathy when EastEnders returns in the autumn.

Stacey also gets an exclusive tour of 45 Albert Square – better known as the home of the Beale family, and previously the Fowlers – where the trio reminisce about some of the biggest moments to have taken place on the iconic set.

Stacey Dooley chats to some of Walford’s biggest stars, reliving some of their most iconic moments, sharing juicy behind-the-scenes gossip and revealing some of the show’s best kept secrets.

This week, Stacey is joined by Diane Parish and Tameka Empson, aka sisters Denise and Kim Fox, for a very big socially-distanced reunion, as Tameka returns to set for the first time since 2019.

Picking up just where they left off, the stars reveal all about their close working relationship and tell the stories behind some of their biggest moments – from Tameka reliving her infamous live labour scenes for the 30th anniversary to Diane explaining why she once had to pretend to all her friends and family that she had quit the show.

Diane recalls the pair’s first meeting, long before working together on EastEnders, even if Tameka doesn’t remember it herself. Tameka reveals how blagging helped win her a role on the show, and – with Kim currently living in Scotland – the trio marvel at Tameka’s attempts at a Scottish accent.

As well as looking back at all the best Fox family drama over the years, the duo break into Albert Square’s very own hair salon – Fox and Hair – to give Stacey an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour.
