The Lake Eyre Story by H. L. Penman Ph.D., F.mst.P.
After the phenomenal rains of 1949-50 Lake Eyre in Southern Australia was converted from a dry saltpan into a 3,000-square-mile inland sea. The changes that followed this strange event are described by Dr. Penman of Rothamsted Experimental Station, who has recently returned from visiting the area.
