Synopsis

We have produced a Style Guide to help editors follow a standard format when editing a listing. If you are unsure how best to edit this programme please take a moment to read it.
Robert Cushman reviews the eighth annual convention held in the Town
Hall, Manhattan. He selects the best from among the hundreds of songs and performers. Each evening had a theme, among which were Lyrics on Several Occasions - a Celebration of Ira Gershwin; On the Sunny Side of the Street - the Lyrics of Dorothy Field ; Dancing in the Dark - the Words and Music of Howard Dietz and Arthur Schwartz ; and Happy Anniversary - an Appreciation of Some Classic Shows of the Broadway Season of 1947. The cabaret stars in full voice include
Julie Wilson , Annie Ross ,
Margaret Whiting , Richard Rodney Bennett and Andrea Marcovicci.
