Spencer Dyke is a Professor at the Royal Academy of Music and has had over thirty years' experience of playing with Quartets. He formed his own Quartet in 1918, and has played with the present combination for ten years.
Tate Gilder , another member of the Quartet, spent two and a half years in South Africa, where he became the leader of the Capetown Orchestra. He joined the Quartet twelve years ago. He is leader of the BBC Theatre Orchestra.
Cedric Sharpe , cello, broadcasts with his own Sextet, and is principal cellist with the London Symphony Orchestra.
Bernard Shore , who is at present on holiday, has a deputy tonight in the person of Frederick Riddle. Riddle is principal viola of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
