Golf: the Open

We have produced a Style Guide to help editors follow a standard format when editing a listing. If you are unsure how best to edit this programme please take a moment to read it.
Live coverage of the final day's play at Carnoustie. The concluding day of any tournament on this course conjures up memories of Jean Van de Velde 's final-hole collapse in the 1999 Open when, needing a double bogey or better to claim the biggest victory of his career, he triple-bogeyed to slip back into a play-off with Paul Lawrie and Justin Leonard, which Lawrie went on to win. Introduced by Gary Lineker, with commentary by Peter Alliss , Ken Brown and Sam Torrance. Highlights at 11.05pm on BBC2. Radio Five Live has coverage from 12.50pm [web address removed]
Digital viewers can press red to access live coverage with dedicated streaming from holes 16, 17 and 18, plus highlights and a leaderboard, from 11.00am to 7.00pm

About this project

This site contains the BBC listings information which the BBC printed in Radio Times between 1923 and 2009. You can search the site for BBC programmes, people, dates and Radio Times editions.

We hope it helps you find information about that long forgotten BBC programme, research a particular person or browse your own involvement with the BBC.

Through the listings, you will also be able to use the Genome search function to find thousands of radio and TV programmes that are already available to view or listen to on the BBC website.

There are more than 5 million programme listings in Genome. This is a historical record of the planned output and the BBC services of any given time. It should be viewed in this context and with the understanding that it reflects the attitudes and standards of its time - not those of today.

To read scans of the Radio Times magazines from the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s, you can navigate by issue.
