The first in a two-part production of William Faulkner 's classic story starring
Don Johnson , Cybill Shepherd Jason Robards , Ava Gardner The sleepy southern town of Frenchman's Bend is shaken by the arrival of Ben Quick , a mysterious drifter with a reputation for ruthless revenge. Will Varner , the town's most powerful man, takes a liking to the stranger and hires him. Quick soon finds himself caught between the bitter frustrations and passions of the Varner family and the vicious contempt of the townspeople.
Don Johnson of Miami Vice and Moonlighting star Cybill Shepherd feature in this torrid drama.
