Surviving the Wave: a Thailand Story

on BBC Three

After the widespread large-scale media coverage of the Asian tsunami disaster, producer Amanda Murray's documentary examines the tragedy on a more intimate level. Murray was on Koh Lanta when the wave struck. And while the island was spared from major devastation, its neighbour Phi Phi was decimated, with people killed. Moving between the two islands, the film follows a handful of Thais and foreigners as they attempt to move on with their lives.
