Tha Màiri NicRisnidh air chuairt eile tron Ghàidhealtachd is nan Eilean a' coinneachadh ri sàr-chòcairean a sheallas dhi am biadh is fheàrr leothasan a dhèanamh.

Anns a' phrògram seo tha Màiri ann an Leòdhas agus an Ìle, a' cluinntinn dé chòrdadh ri daoine le cupa tì feasgar. Bì cuimhne nas fheàrr againn air na cèicean sna greimeannan beaga blasta, na air an ti! Tha na deagh chòcairean is aithne dhi deiseil le molaidhean nach bi tiotan air an truinnsear - eadar cèic treadha le sirisean is almoin, gu cèic aotrom, breac le measan àlainn leithid neactarìn is subhagan - agus crathadh almoin.

Ni i cuideachd cèic nach bì air cogais neach sa bith ged a dh' ítheadh iad air fad e - mìorbhuileach aotrom, gun cha mhòr greim saille, co dhiù gus an cuir thu deagh chnap uachdair na bhroinn còmhla ri na measan. Bì roghainn eile air an truinnsear cuideachd - tort Bakewell, air a bheil a mhòrchuid measail.

Mairi MacRitchie is in the Highlands and islands meeting some of the country's finest cooks and bakers, who share their favourite and most treasured recipes.

In this programme Mairi is in Lewis and Islay, gathering delicious recipes for an afternoon tea. After all, it's the cakes and small bites to eat that people remember more than the tea! Her cooks are on hand with suggestions that will make any tummy rumble, from a crisp cherry and almond traybake with a soft frangipane topping to a beautifully light sponge, bejewelled with nectarines and raspberries and a sprinkling of flaked almonds.

But more than that, Mairi samples a sin-free cake. The wonderfully light angel cake contains almost no fat. That is until you add a generous helping of cream and fresh fruit. And Mairi also creates the afternoon tea classic, bakewell tart, which is a prerequisite to any tea party. Show less
