HMS Amethyst's daring flight down the Communist controlled Yangtse River in July 1949, is already part of naval history. This film directed by Michael Ander son, who was also responsible for The Dam Busters, stars Richard Todd in the part of Lieut Cmdr John S. Kerans who captained the crippled ship during the 140-mile ordeal.
