George Bone , a mentally disturbed composer, becomes infatuated with a singer but when she rejects him the last vestiges of his self-control disappear.
This atmospheric thriller set in Edwardian London marked the last screen appearance of arch screen villain Laird Cregar who died months after the film was completed. He co-stars with the movies' most famous cad, the late George Sanders.
