THE VICTOR FLEMING ORCHESTRA

Synopsis

We have produced a Style Guide to help editors follow a standard format when editing a listing. If you are unsure how best to edit this programme please take a moment to read it.
This orchestra of twenty-one players was recently formed by Victor Fleming , whose activities in Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield include conducting the Birmingham Choral and Orchestral Society, organising promenade concerts, conducting the Sutton Coldfield Operatic Society, which he founded, and promoting interest in ballet music. For two years he was music director of Aberystwyth.
As ' a violinist Victor Fleming played in nearly every theatre of the West End of London, including opera at Covent Garden. He came to the Midlands about sixteen years ago. and from 1923 to 1931 piayed in the City of Birmingham Orchestra. He studied conducting under
Aylmer Buesst.
