The 'man of a thousand faces' appears in one of the classic silent horror films, presented in a tinted version with an organ soundtrack.
A mad, disfigured musician haunts the sewers of Paris, a hopeless victim of his own ugliness. In a desperate bid for a link with beauty, he kidnaps Christine, a young singer, and takes her to his underground chambers.
