Europe in the summer of 1914; Europe at peace yet torn by social unrest: by international tensions, by fear and ambitions that led the Great Powers unsuspectingly yet inevitably to the brink of war.

With the voices of Sir Michael Redgrave as Narrator, Sir Ralph Richardson as Douglas Haig, Emlyn Williams as Lloyd George and Marius Goring, Cyril Luckham, Sebastian Shaw.
