Ann and her 19-year-old daughter Joanna live in their small hotel on the coast, each seeking an escape from the monotony of everyday life. One winter's day, Joe, an American from Ann's past, arrives at the deserted hotel. The three are drawn into an intense relationship which explodes into a shocking conclusion.
