The day George Dunlap wins an award for his latest book is the day he decides to leave his wife and four kids. It's not so difficult at first, but as Faith gains independence and his eldest daughter Sherry grows to hate him, George begins to regret his leaving. A fine cast give superb performances in this moving and often funny drama by Alan Parker , director of Midnight Express and Angel Heart.
