POEMS I ENJOY

Synopsis

We have produced a Style Guide to help editors follow a standard format when editing a listing. If you are unsure how best to edit this programme please take a moment to read it.
Margaret Rawlings
Only ten years ago Margaret Raw lings made her first appearance on the professional stage. Few actresses in so short a time have achieved such success. She has toured Canada and the United States in Shaw repertory ; has played Salome in both London and New York ; has acted in Australia ; and in 1935 appeared in New York as Katharine O'Shea in Parnell. Listeners will remember her broadcasts in Troilus and Cressida, Hippolytus, and Antony and Cleopatra (the last less than a year ago). They will look forward to hearing the poems she enjoys, and more particularly to her reading some of them.

About this project

This site contains the BBC listings information which the BBC printed in Radio Times between 1923 and 2009. You can search the site for BBC programmes, people, dates and Radio Times editions.

We hope it helps you find information about that long forgotten BBC programme, research a particular person or browse your own involvement with the BBC.

Through the listings, you will also be able to use the Genome search function to find thousands of radio and TV programmes that are already available to view or listen to on the BBC website.

There are more than 5 million programme listings in Genome. This is a historical record of the planned output and the BBC services of any given time. It should be viewed in this context and with the understanding that it reflects the attitudes and standards of its time - not those of today.
