Salvatore lives from hand to mouth as an unauthorised one-man information service in a Naples hospital. When Luciella Picone comes looking for her husband's body, Salvatore is anxious to help - especially since he sees a chance of taking over Picone's Mafia business.
Nanni Loy's accomplished comedy thriller shows the underside of life in Naples where every municipal service has its thriving unofficial counterpart.
The film has been nominated for an Oscar as this year's best foreign film.
