Horse of the Year Show

We have produced a Style Guide to help editors follow a standard format when editing a listing. If you are unsure how best to edit this programme please take a moment to read it.
Four days of coverage from
Wembley Arena continue with the puissance, the ultimate test of a horse and rider's courage and ability, as the highlight of tonight's competitions. The Big Red Wall - in this event the only obstacle to be cleared - could reach heights of over 7ft.
Can Franke Sloothaak from
Germany, riding
Optiebeurs Leonardo , break his own world record of 7ft 8 '/2ms set in Belgium last June? Or will Tim Stockdale on Supermarket (a joint-winner in 1989) or Michael Whitaker (a 1990 joint winner) on Henderson Alonso , snaffle the trophy? Also taking part is veteran
Harvey Smith , winner of the very first puissance in 1967 on Harvester VI and O'Malley, and in three subsequent years. He could produce a touch of the old magic on Bond St Gold. The winners will be chasing a total of E10,000 prize money. Introduced by David Vine.

Horse of the Year Show

BBC One London, 10 October 1991 23.55

About this project

This site contains the BBC listings information which the BBC printed in Radio Times between 1923 and 2009. You can search the site for BBC programmes, people, dates and Radio Times editions.

We hope it helps you find information about that long forgotten BBC programme, research a particular person or browse your own involvement with the BBC.

Through the listings, you will also be able to use the Genome search function to find thousands of radio and TV programmes that are already available to view or listen to on the BBC website.

There are more than 5 million programme listings in Genome. This is a historical record of the planned output and the BBC services of any given time. It should be viewed in this context and with the understanding that it reflects the attitudes and standards of its time - not those of today.
