Composer of the Week: Berlioz

on BBC Radio 3

Berlioz was born in La Côte-St-André, a small town between Lyons and Grenoble, but Paris became his home - he once remarked he could never consider living anywhere else. But his relationship with his adopted home was a turbulent one, encompassing both his greatest achievements and most profound exasperation. Donald Macleod charts the course of Berlioz's association with the "city of light".
