' I have taught them to march to their own drum, not to conform.' As a farewell present from her fellow teachers and pupils, Elizabeth Winfield is given a bus pass for unlimited travel. She decides - after 50 years of teaching at the local school-to visit some of her many relatives. While she is away, local politicians and businessmen decide to sell off part of the old New England town, named Winfield after Elizabeth's family.
