The annual Gateshead athletic spectacular once again produces a unique event with the appearance of the legendary Olympians, AL OERTER in the discus and LASSE VIREN in the 5,000m, who have each won four Olympic gold medals.
In addition there is the welcome reappearance in Europe of JOHN WALKER. World record holderforthe mile. Also competing are British Stars DA VEMOORCROFT, ALLAN WELLS , SEBASTIAN COE and BRENDAN FOSTER. Organised by the Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council in association with Philips Electrical.
