Terry (Gavin Richards) is the pain in Spain as far as Irene (Roberta Taylor) is concerned in EastEnders

Soaps
EastEnders 8.00pm BBC1
When soaps pack their bags to go on holiday, it can mean only one thing - there's big trouble ahead. And sure enough, there's trouble in buckets and spades this week with three EastEnders Spanish specials - including tonight's extended episode - featuring three of the soap's most established couples: Roy and Pat, Frank and Peggy, and Terry and Irene. The jaunt proves to be a frequently traumatic escape from the wall-to-wall misery of life back home in Albert Square as all three relationships undergo some dramatic and occasionally irrevocable transformations. This is all a great treat for EastEnders fans and these are truly marvellous scripts from old hand Tony Jordan, who manages to combine lovely comic moments with outbursts of great drama and passion.
