Less Taxing for Some?
A taxpayer's affairs are traditionally private. So, too, are the activities of the Inland Revenue whose job it is to collect the tax. But how much tax is evaded each year, and what chance do the Inland Revenue really have of catching the evaders? Last year the tax men recovered less defrauded tax than in 1960. Are we more honest or just more devious? For the first time, the men from the Revenue talk to The Money Programme about the scale of evasion in Britain today. Presented by BRIAN WIDLAKE
