Synopsis

We have produced a Style Guide to help editors follow a standard format when editing a listing. If you are unsure how best to edit this programme please take a moment to read it.
Noel Edmonds re-creates a magical moment in the life of a famous person with the help of friends family and colleagues.... together with the atmosphere of that time as remembered by people who found themselves in the news of the day ... the music-makers, film and television stars, the scandal-makers and ordinary people ... all having the time of their lives. This week:
Author Leslie Thomas remembers February 1966 when his best-selling novel The Virgin Soldiers was published. With the help of MICHAEL ASPEL re-creating Town and Around, TONY BLACKBURN and DAVE LEE TRAVIS on the shipwrecked Radio Caroline, suzy MENKES on her campaign for students' sex lives, RICHARD GOTT standing in a by-election for ' Peace in Vietnam', and THE TROGGS singing ' Wild thing'.
