2.5 Your Home and Mine
' The Works of a Town '
GEOFFREY BOUMPHREY
This term listeners are going in imagination with Geoffrey Boum phrey out into the country and into the towns to see how our ways of working and living are changing and how our homes are changing with them. They will learn about the advantage of living close together and about some of the difficulties. They will hear how food and water are brought to the towns, how rubbish and refuse are disposed of, how the towns are lighted, how doctors guard against disease, fire brigades deal with fire, and police keep order. Next week they will hear what is happening to the countryside.
