on BBC Radio 4 FM

New series 1/3. St Petersburg to Moscow Last year
President Putin declared open a new road across Russia, stretching from St Petersburg to Vladivostok. It is the longest road in the world inside a single country covering a distance of 6,600 miles - around a quarter of the Earth's circumference. Peter Day travels the road and asks the people he meets on the journey to Vladivostok about their changing lives. He soon encounters difficulties when he meets a map maker who tells him the road does not exist. Producers Neil Koenig and Sue Davies
